IBPO Endorses Gary Starnes For Sessions Court Judge

The International Brotherhood of Police Officers Local 673 formally endorsed Gary Starnes for Sessions Court judge, through a collective vote in their regular board and membership meeting on Monday. 

Tim Tomisek, president of the IBPO stated that, “After interviewing candidates, the IBPO unanimously voted to endorse Gary Starnes for judge of the Sessions Court of Hamilton County.  The IBPO found that Mr. Starnes is a proven leader in the legal profession and the community.  The IBPO found that Mr. Starnes has excellent credentials, years of trial court experience, has sat as a special judge in our local City and Sessions courts, and has integrity and leadership abilities.  Mr. Starnes has also been a supporter of local, state, and federal police and law enforcement officials for years.  The IBPO is proud to announce this endorsement of Mr. Starnes as our next Sessions Court judge.”

Attorney Gary Starnes stated that “the recent endorsements of the Chattanooga Firefighters Association, Local 820 and the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers, Local 673 on Monday is an extraordinary honor and has energized my campaign.  I am prepared to serve.”   

The IBPO Local 673 are local law enforcement officers engaged in and serving the community. The IBPO membership includes the Chattanooga Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Steps Up Seat Belt, DUI Enforcement For Memorial Day Weekend

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will step up seat belt and DUI enforcement efforts over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The THP also encourages all motorists to drive safely during the 78-hour period. CARTA Announces Memorial Day Schedule

In observance of Memorial Day, CARTA’s fixed route and Downtown Shuttle buses will operate on Saturday schedules on Monday. The CARTA Care-a-van will also be operating on a holiday schedule. 3 Charged In Raleigh With Murder Of Former Cleveland, Tn., Woman

Three people have been charged in Raleigh, N.C., with the murder last week of a 30-year-old woman, who had just moved from Cleveland, Tn. Arrested for the slaying of Melissa Dawn Huggins-Jones were Ronald Lee Anthony, 23; Sarah Rene Redden, 18, and Travion Devonte Smith, 20.
