Marilyn W. Hurn Landers died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
She was 88 and was born in Electra, Texas on Feb. 1, 1924, but had lived the majority of her life in Chattanooga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Foster L. and Marguerite Hurn and two brothers, Foster Jr. and Joseph E. Hurn.
She attended Central High School in Chattanooga. In earlier years, she had worked at Cutter Laboratories and was retired after 36 years from the Diagnostic Center of Chattanooga. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines as music was one of her great loves. She was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Bill (Jerdie) Landers, two daughters, Janice (Ron) Vandergriff, both of Chattanooga and Kathy (David) Goodner of Cleveland, Tn., nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, at Chattanooga Memorial Park in White Oak.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, and from 9:30–10:30 a.m. on Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home for a procession to the cemetery.
