Bradbury, Richard Arnold (Cleveland)

Richard Arnold Bradbury, 73, of Cleveland, Tn., died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the family residence. 

Richard was a faithful Christian for 60 years and a member of North Cleveland Church of God. He loved God, his family, Nebraska Huskers, golf, traveling and visiting with relatives and friends. He was employed with Uniform Rental Service for 32 years, American Linen for 3 years, Pathway Press for 3 years and Bradbury Catering for 7 years. Richard had so many dear and special friends he cherished. 

Richard was the son of the late Henry and Ruth Bradbury; and was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Bradbury. 

Richard is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Pat Bradbury of Cleveland; children, Linn Mathis and her husband Mark of Atlanta and Kelley Burnett and her husband David of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Alicia Clark, Lauren Pittman and her husband Matthew, Brittany Clark, Lindsey Roberson and her husband Ryan, Andrew Clark and Dustin Clark and his wife Starr; great-grandchildren, Destiny Marie Clark and Baby Roberson due November 2012; brothers, Gerald Bradbury and his wife Anne of Longview, Wash., Dennis Bradbury and his wife Peggie of Knoxville and Nicholas Bradbury and his wife Waneva of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 17, at the North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel with Reverend Rick Bradbury, Reverend Gerald Holloway, Reverend Jerry McNabb and Reverend Mitch Maloney officiating. 

A private internment will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 18, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Larry Fister, Greg Prytherch, Paul Bradbury, Micah Bradbury, Jack Williams and Jim Crane serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Pittman, Ryan Roberson and Mark Mathis. 

Richard's family will receive friends immediately following the Celebration of Life Service in the Family Life Center. Refreshments will be served. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the International Mesothelioma Foundation, 15 Francis Street, PBB-259, Boston, MA. 02215 in memory of Richard Bradbury.

Slaughter, Keenan Scott (Jasper)

Keenan Scott Slaughter, 52, of Jasper, TN, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Slaughter and Millie Duvall Sloan. He was an employee of Lowes Home Improvement Store in Kimball, TN. William "Bill" Wills Dowdy

William “Bill” Wills Dowdy, 82, died on May 23, at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, following a very brief illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Brownsville, Tn., to the late Arvil Odell Dowdy and Alma Juanita Bright Dowdy. Bill was a graduate of Red Bank High School. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
