Pearl Pemberton, 88, of Jasper, Tn., died Sunday, May 13, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
The daughter of the late Ed and Betsy Jane Brown Layne, she worked as a cook at Jasper Elementary School for many years and enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Ford Pemberton; daughter, Charlotte “Sissy” Barnett; sister, Dorothy Pemberton; brother, Willard Layne; and one grandchild.
She is survived by two daughters, Bertha J. Dame and Jane Rogers both of Jasper; grandchildren, Jeff (Maggie) Barnett, Stacey (Chris) Webb, Sharon (Michael) Fulfer all of Jasper, David (Angela) Dame of South Pittsburg, Tanya (Andy) Cooper, Don (BJ) Rogers both of Jasper and Steve Rogers of Atlanta; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Webb officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
