Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

ML King Boulevard between Market Street and Georgia Avenue and Market Street between East 8th Street and ML King Boulevard will be closed from 5:30 p.m.-midnight on Friday, for the Nightfall Concert Series.  The 800 block of Cherry Street will be closed at ML King Boulevard and will only be accessible from East 8th Street. There will be limited handicapped parking in the 900 block of Georgia Avenue on the Miller Park side on the meters covered with Orange "reserved" bags.

The eastbound curb lane of West 20th Street, from Carter Street to South Market Street, and the south bound curb lane of South Market Street from 20th Street to Alton Park Boulevard, will be closed from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, for the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. There will be traffic delays on Alton Park Boulevard, West 40th street, and Tennessee Avenue.  Motorists are advised to watch for cyclists on these streets.

Reggie White Boulevard (Carter Street) between West 19th Street and the entrance to the Skate Park will be closed from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday, for the Chattanooga Market.

The curb lane of East bound Frazier Avenue, from the Walnut Street Bridge to the Veterans Bridge, the north and south bound curb lanes of the Veterans Bridge, from Barton Avenue to Georgia Avenue, the south bound exit ramp from the Veterans Bridge to Riverside Drive, the west bound curb lane of East 3rd Street from High Street to Walnut Street, the inside east bound lane of Riverside Drive/Amnicola Highway to the southernmost Riverpark entrance and the west bound curb lane of Amnicola Highway/Riverside Drive and Tremont Street from Frazier Avenue to the southern end of Tremont Street will be closed from 7:30-11 a.m. on Sunday, for the Scenic City Triathlon.  Spring Street, East 2nd Street and  High Street in the Bluff View Art district and north bound Walnut Street between East 3rd Street and the south end of the Walnut Street Bridge will not be closed but there may be delays in these areas and motorists are advised to watch for runners and cyclists in these areas.

The circle at the end of Tremont Street south of River Street will be closed on Sunday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for the Public Works Week Touch-a-Truck Event.

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
