Dr. Paul Holloway, from the School of Theology at Sewanee, will lead a discussion on New Testament perspectives on same-gender relationships Sunday at 9:15 a.m. at the Adult Christian Formation class at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 211 Franklin Road, Lookout Mountain.
The vocal music of Mozart will be presented in concert at 2:30 p.m. with "Mozart On the Mountain," by local operatic artists Beth DuRoy, sopano; Loralee Songer, mezzo-soprano; Harve Wileman, tenor, and Chris Oglesby, baritone, accompanied by Jason DuRoy at the piano and organ.
The concert will feature music from Mozart's operas as well as his sacred works. All pieces will be sung in the original language and each piece will be preceded with a brief set-up to give the context of the drama.
The informal, unticketed 75-minute concert will be free and open to the public; a love offering will be taken for the artists.
The Occasional Book Club will be at 4 p.m. May 20, upstairs in the Youth Building for a discussion of "The Faith Club." Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.
