Joint Funeral Service Will Be Saturday For Chattanooga Family Killed In Florida Accident

A joint funeral service for a Chattanooga family killed in an automobile accident on Sunday will be on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Demetrius Antjuan “Meechie” Suggs and his wife, Porcsha Suggs-Davis, were killed.

Other victims were Mercydes Davis, and Raneisha Powell-McGee. Raneisha, who lived in Florida, was the daughter of Mr. Suggs and Mercydes was his step-daughter.

They died in a head-on collision when their vehicle was struck by an SUV driven by Carolyn Ramos of Port St. Lucie going southbound in the northbound lanes 65 miles north of Miami around 2:15 a.m.

Mr. Suggs was attended Howard High School and tacob Creek Job Corps.

He was a member of Greater New Hope Church of God in Christ and was employed by Pilgrim’s Pride.

Porcsha Suggs-Davis was employed by MIG Wire & Tube, LLC.

Charges Dismissed In Big K Market Murder

Charges have been dismissed against a man charged in the shooting death of 53-year-old Herbert Strickland at the Big K Market at 909 Dodson Ave. Antonio Dejong Espey, 18, had been indicted a few months after the shooting, and he has been in jail awaiting trial. Suspect Sought In Shooting On Nautical Way

A suspect is being sought in a shooting that happened Friday afternoon.
