East Ridge criminal investigators on Friday filed charges against the 13-year-old female student who lied to investigators about being sexually assaulted at East Ridge Middle School.
Investigators have charged the teenager with filling a false police report through Hamilton County Juvenile Court.
Investigators said they have determined that all allegations were unfounded.
On Thursday, May 10, at approximately 5 p.m., East Ridge Police had responded to Parkridge East Hospital in reference to an alleged sexual assault. Officers made contact with the young student "who stated she had been raped in the girl’s restroom during school."
East Ridge Criminal Investigators responded to the scene. The child was taken to the Rape Crisis Center for further evaluation.
The girl described her assailant as a light-skinned black male, approximately 15 years of age, with low cut hair. She said he was wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans. Child Protective Services was also notified of the incident.
