Mission Meetings At Brainerd Baptist

Two mission opportunity meetings will be held at Brainerd Baptist Church, 300 Brookfield Ave., on Sunday, at 5 p.m. in BX Cross View. One is for Argentina on Sept. 20-28 and the other for France on Oct. 11-19.

A reception for two pastors who will graduate from New Orleans Baptist Seminary, Chris Moses and Hal Stewart, will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall.

Children in AWANA and Bible Drill will be honored on Sunday at 6 p.m., the Kindergarten choir and first through sixth grades will present a musical, "God of the City," and the quarterly members meeting will follow.

The Senior Adult monthly meeting and luncheon will be Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m at the BX. The theme  of the month is The Way We Were. Lunch will be served for $5.


Joseph Chapel AME Chapel Has Memorial Day Activities Sunday

Joseph Chapel AME Church, at 2613 Wood Ave., will host Memorial Day festivities on Sunday.   The morning speaker will be C. Robert Finch, presiding elder north Memphis. St. Paul's Episcopal Plans Arts Camp

Arts Camp, open to all children from rising pre-K through rising eighth grade at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 805 West 7th St., will be June 10-14 from 8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. The cost is $60 per child. Wade Hinton, who led Mayor Andy Berke's transition team, has been chosen as city attorney. It is a joint appointment with the City Council, and the move was endorsed by a number of council members who appeared with the mayor at a press conference on Friday morning.
