Louise Marzelia Shriver, 89, of Soddy Daisy, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born to the late Fletcher Coffelt and Ollie May Coffelt, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold Coffelt, J.C. Coffelt and Joe Harold Coffelt, sisters, Margie Coffelt, Bill Butler, Hazel Butler Skiles and Opal Butler, grandson, John Robert Wilkey. 

Louise was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother to her family who she loved and cherished. She was a faithful member of the Soddy Church of Christ. “Mother/Nana, someday I hope I’m able to say I’ve done as much as you and with as much energy, too. I want to say I’ve led a good life, made the right choices, and put family and friends first-like you have. I want to say that people enjoyed and trusted me the way they do you. Someday I hope to be paid the highest compliment I can think of…You’re just like your Mother/Nana.” 

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Robert Shriver, three sisters, Catherine Davis, Ruth Coffelt, and Jane Coffelt, four children, Joni Lou Adams, Jerry Wilkey, Robert Wilkey, and Carl Wilkey, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of close family and friends who will greatly miss her laughter and overall zest for everything life had to offer. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 21, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Bill Greer and the Reverend Carl Wilkey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Chattanooga Memorial Park. 

Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and after noon on Monday at the funeral home.

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talledega Avenue

City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge.
