James Precise

Rev. James Robert Precise, 89, of Rossville, died on Friday, May 18, 2012.  

He was born in Scottsboro, Ala., to the late Rorex and Mae Belle Precise, but had lived in the Rossville area for most of his life and was ordained into the Baptist ministry in 1959. He was previously employed with Peerless-Woolen Mills and was a member of Battlefield Baptist Church.  He also enjoyed fishing and was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lela Mae Precise;  son, Bobby Precise;  great-granddaughter, Sara Maynor;  two sisters, Rena Proctor and Hazel Floyd and brother, Lloyd Bryan Precise.

Survivors include his two daughters and son-in-law, Glenda and (Howard) Thomas  and Janet Kanitz, all of Rossville; sister, Sally Proctor of Scottsboro, Ala.; six grandchildren, Larry and Tommy Maynor and James, Tracy, Randy and Tammy Hicks; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, May 21, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Reverend David Crane officiating.  Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.  

The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.  

Arrangements are by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe.


Quinn, Earl Dewey

Earl Dewey Quinn, 74, of Apison, Tennessee, died on May 18, 2013 at his residence.  Earl was an employee at Collegedale Caseworks with 34 years of service, a lifelong resident of Apison, and an avid wrestling and Nascar fan. Hunt, Genella

Genella Hunt, 88, of Rossville, died on Friday, May 17, 2013 at a local health care facility.  Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Hunt, Jr.; four children; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services will be on June 1. Reynolds, David Eugene (Old Fort)

David Eugene Reynolds, 52, of Old Fort, TN, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital following a short but mighty battle against cancer and other complications. Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
