Mundy, Maggie Bell

Maggie Bell Mundy, age 97, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. 

She was born Maggie Bell Butler on November 3, 1914, to Jim and Ethel Butler of Carthage, Tn. She was married to Willy B. (Bill) Mundy on February 28, 1931, and they were blessed with one son, Jimmy Benton Mundy on April 12, 1936. 

The family moved to Chattanooga in the early 1940’s to a small house on Runyan Drive, where Bill and Maggie lived together until Bill passed away in 1981. Maggie continued to live alone until last year when her health forced her to move in with family. Grandma, we love you and we will miss you.

Maggie is survived by three sisters, Olean Harville, Christine Harville, and Lena Woodard, one son Jimmy Mundy, five grandchildren, Nicholas Mundy, Susan White, Melissa Alire, Marissa Decker, and Victoria Jaglinski, 12 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing and services will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343. 

Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 3, from 4-8 p.m., and services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 4, with Pastor Steve White officiating.

She loved growing things. Flowers are welcomed, appreciated, and would make her smile.

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talledega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge.
