Osby Burks, Jr.

Osby Burks, Jr., 65, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, April 27, 2012.  

He was retired from Wheland Foundry and was a member of Mt. Ollie Primitive Baptist Church.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Osby Burks, Sr.; mother, Martha Burks Slater; and six siblings.  

Survivors include his wife, Katie Burks; son, Michael Burks; daughters, Michelle Burks (Vincent) Goines, both of Chattanooga, Lisa Burks of Memphis, and Pamela Burks of Huntsville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Louise) Burks of Madison, Ala., George (Dorothy) Burks, Lee Burks, Richard Burks, Christopher Burks, all of Chattanooga, John (Nina) Burks, Nathaniel Slater, both of Huntsville, and Steve (Janet) Burks of Birmingham; sisters, Ernestine Burks of Rossville, Mary Burks, Quentrenisha Byrd, Natasha Byrd, Nikki Byrd, Brittany Burks, all of Chattanooga and Sharon Burks of Panama City, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

The body will lie in state on Thursday, May 3, after noon at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Owen Smith, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Anna Lorine Adams, 91, formerly of Chattanooga, died on Sunday May 12, 2013 in Claude, Texas. Lorine was born Sept. 22, 1921. A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night.
