Richard W. Kinder, 70, of Cleveland, Tn., died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in a local hospital.
He worked for the U.S. Government Department of Defense for 10 years. He served with U. S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion Post 81, and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was of Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Kinder and Mary Ruth Wright Kinder; two sisters, Patsy Ruth Poteet and Jo Ann Southerland; and brother, James D. Kinder.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy Adamson Kinder; children, Stuart Kinder and wife Sharon of Houston, Tx., Stephen Kinder of Cleveland; grandchildren, Christopher Kinder, Emily Kinder, Marian Kinder, Lucas Kinder, Sam Kinder and Hannah Kinder; sister, Nancy Branam of Cleveland; brothers John Kinder and Ralph “Buster” Kinder of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at Friday May 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Matt Brown, Christopher Kinder, Gaven Kinder, Blake Kinder, Mikel Kinder and Mark Maddux serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
