Cleveland Police Officer Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On South Lee Highway

A Cleveland Police officer was killed in a car crash on Sunday night.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., Officer Justin Maples was involved in a single-vehicle accident at 1600 South Lee Highway. Officer Maples was transported by EMS to SkyRidge Medical
Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:21 p.m.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting the investigation.

Officer Maples, was a seven-year veteran of the Cleveland Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Danielle, and his three sons.

Rep.

Eric Watson said, "My heart goes out to Danielle and the family of Justin Maples. He was one of the greatest officers that I ever met. He was one of those guys that if you can sketch out who you want for a police officer, that’s exactly who you would have.

"He was truly one of the good guys and he will be greatly missed in Bradley County."
