Sarah Elizabeth “Beta” Greenwood, 84, of Trion, Georgia, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Greenwood was born August 19, 1927 in Teloga, Ga., the daughter of the late James Elbert Hayes and Lottie Christol Hayes. She was retired from the Trion School System. Mrs. Greenwood is a member of First Baptist Church Trion and the Trion High School Alumni Association.

Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her husband, J.W. Greenwood; son, Robert Emmett “Robin”and wife, Donna N. Greenwood; daughter , Ginger Larisa Greenwood Lanier and husband, Stephen A. Lanier; brother, Billy B. Hayes; grandchildren, Andrew Alexander “Drew” Lanier, Laci Elizabeth Lanier, and Sarah Grace Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Woods and Sis. Donna Shireman officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Hayes, Benny Hayes, David Hayes, Robert Hayes, Mike Camp and Rick Camp. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gospel Tab Men, Raymond Tripp, and Albert Palmour.

Mrs. Greenwood will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22.

Feds Dismiss Criminal Charges Against Rarity Developer Mike Ross
