TSSAA Network To Broadcast 2012 Spring Fling Championships

HERMITAGE, Tenn. (May 21, 2012) – The TSSAA announces coverage of the 2012 BlueCross Spring Fling championships events in track and field, soccer, baseball and softball live starting Thursday, May 24 at www.TSSAANetwork.com and rebroadcast across the Tennessee Public Television Council stations the following week.

“The BlueCross Spring Fling events are a series of highly competitive events for Tennessee student athletes,” said Bernard Childress, Executive Director for TSSAA. “It is an amazing opportunity to have the events broadcast live for families and fans of the student athletes that are not able to make it to the events.”

The TSSAA Network is a partnership between the TSSAA and PlayOn! Sports that features live and on-demand coverage of high school sports in Tennessee across television and the Internet. The TSSAAnetwork.com video portal is one component of the partnership and gives fans access, at no charge, to a wide variety of events including the recent BlueCross Basketball Championships and BlueCross Bowl this past fall.

The BlueCross Spring Fling events will rebroadcast the following week on the Tennessee Channel. The Tennessee Channel is a joint effort between all six of Tennessee’s PBS stations to bring the best programming related to life in Tennessee to all residents. Each week, the Tennessee Channel features a four-hour block of programs and short subjects produced by public television stations across the state. The Tennessee Channel broadcasts simultaneously throughout Tennessee on each station’s additional digital channel on Saturdays from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. CT (6:00 - 10:00 p.m. ET), and Sundays, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. CT (2:00 - 6:00 p.m. ET)

Chattanooga FC Host Storm Saturday

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talladega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302 Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
