The BlueCross Spring begins Monday in Murfreesboro when 4,200 student-athletes will compete for state titles in baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and track and field.
This year, BlueCross is inviting fans to show their school spirit on TWITTER by playing "Tweet your team.''
Tweet Your Team is a social media contest that encourages fans to get out their phones and cheer on their favorite school on Twitter.
Participants will be playing for a chance to win their school a $1,000 donation from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
To play, fans must tweet a cheer or score update with their school’s name and the official BlueCross Spring Fling hashtag, #bcbstSpringFling. For each Tweet that includes the name of their school and the official hashtag, the mentioned school will receive one point. At the end of the week, the school with the most points will win $1,000.
“Tweet Your Team is a great way for us to engage fans and promote school spirit on social media,” said Kathryn Smith, corporate sponsorship project manager for BlueCross. “This provides an opportunity for faculty, students, parents and an entire community to show support for their school, and most importantly, it provides us an opportunity to give back to the communities that are so important to the success of BlueCross Spring Fling.”
