Nellie Irene Saffels, 83, of Cleveland, Tn., died Friday, May 18, 2012 in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Lilly Cox Moore and Clea Moore; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvel “Red” Saffels; infant son, Bobby Saffels; daughter, Nancy Kaylor; brothers, Wayne Moore and Milton Moore; and sisters, Gladys Lewis, Virginia Castelle Brock and Ira Lee Fugate.
She worked at Kellmans as a seamstress, she cooked sewed, crocheted, enjoyed birds and vegetables and flower gardens and loved taking care of her family.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Saffels and his wife Janet of Cleveland; son-in-law, Danny Kaylor of Cleveland; grandchildren, Becky and Scoop Aikens of Cleveland, Jessie and Amy Kaylor of Cleveland and Scott Bowling of Ringgold; great-grandchildren, Tamara Yarber, Matthew Yarber, Shelby Kaylor, Erica Kaylor and Isaiah Aikens; great-grandson, Joseph Yarber; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Gary Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Jessie Kaylor, Tamara Yarber, Matthew Yarber, Benjie Pope, Billy Baxter, Bryan Yarber and Scott Bowling serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22 from 6-9 p.m. at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes who is in charge of the arrangements.
