Toney Fires 3-Hitter As South Pittsburg Wins Baseball Opener

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Jacob Toney pitched a three-hitter and struck out nine as South Pittsburg defeated Cascade, 3-1, in the Class A state baseball tournament Tuesday night at Middle Tennessee Christian School.

Michael Allen was 2-for-3 for the Pirates while Toney, Blaze Moats and Cody Branham each had an RBI.

South Pittsburg will play Decatur County on Wednesday at 1:30 eastern. Decatur County beat North Greene, 5-2, Tuesday night.
