YPAC To Sponsor Non-Profit Kickball Tournament

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

The Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC) will soon kick off their annual charity kickball tournament benefitting Chattanooga’s local non-profit community. This year’s event, “The Rivalry Cup at Baylor,” will take place at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at Baylor School.

The Rivalry Cup at Baylor marks the 4th consecutive year that YPAC has participated in a kickball tournament benefiting Chattanooga non-profits.

Registration is $250 per team, and teams may have a maximum of 12 players. Sixteen team slots are available, and teams will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each team will represent a charity of its own choice: winner takes all.

Teams will compete in a series of brackets, with each team playing three games. YPAC will host an Allstars team for any individuals who would like to participate. Area businesses, agencies and other organizations are invited to join in on the fun to support a great cause.

YPAC President Cara Hicks said, “The YPAC kickball tournament is always a much-anticipated event among our members.” She added, “We’re thrilled about adding a new twist this year – allowing teams to choose the charity to whom they will donate winning proceeds. As an organization who advocates young professional leadership and civic involvement, we can’t think of a better way to empower our members and provide them with an opportunity to give back to their community.”

For information on event sponsorship or to register your team, please contact Tripp Thurston attrippthurston@ypchattanooga.org. Special thanks to YPAC sponsors: EPB Fiber Optics, Decosimo, Northwestern Mutual, Henderson Hutcherson & McCullough and Velo Coffee.

Scandals At Home And Abroad

Since my hip operation and time in recovery, I have tried to set aside things that are insignificant to me and to average Americans. Don't get me wrong here. What these people are doing (Bengahzi) is despicable be they left or right wing, and they have been doing it (both sides) for a long time. But the dirty deeds themselves carry little weight as to what they mean to you or me. ... (click for more)
