Krey, Geneva O. Stephenson (Dalton)

Geneva O. Stephenson Krey, 80, of Dalton, Ga., died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 4:15 p.m. at the Quinton Memorial Health Care. 

Geneva was born March 10, 1932, in Gilmer County, Ga. She was a member of the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her father, James Thomas Stephens; mother, Stella Mae Parks Rogers; step-father, Otis Rogers, brother, Jimmy Stephens; first husband, James Stephenson; and daughter, Barbara Stephenson. 

She is survived by her husband, Dale Krey; son, Ray Stephenson; grandson and his wife, Stuart and Jessica Stephenson; great-granddaughter, Hope Stephenson; sisters, Betty and T.R. Etheridge, Delores and Gary Green; nieces and nephews; her many friends and staff at Quinton Memorial; her church family; and her special roommate, Carolyn Mulkey, who was always there for her. 

The family would like to also thank the staff of Quinton Memorial for all the loving care they provided especially the nurses and caregivers. Words cannot express the gratitude in our heart for each and everyone that had a small part of her care. 

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Geneva O. Stephenson Krey will be held Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Steve Spangler and Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, May 24 at Ponders Melrose Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
