Edna Gordo Cummings May, 91, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area, she was a former employee of Edgewood Chenille, and was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Glenn May Sr., son, Glenn May Jr., parents, Mills and Maggie Black Cummings, three sisters, Ruby Brown, Gladys Bunch and Carrie Fowler, two brothers, Clyde and James Cummings.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Norton of Ringgold, Ga., and Helen (Bob) Helton of Rocky Face, Ga., three sisters, Marie Hale, Mary Ruth Fowler and Pearlie Schmidt all of Ringgold, Ga., two sisters-in-law, Prima Cochran (Billy Joe) of Dalton, Ga., and Betty Ramirez of Rome, Ga., 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Billy Joe Cochran and Reverend Ed Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Gordy Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 25, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday until funeral time at the funeral home.
