Pentecost Pageantry At Church of Good Shepherd, Lookout

Pentecost will be celebrated at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 211 Franklin Road, Lookout Mountain, Sunday with pageantry. The liturgy will be a feast for the senses, including special hymns, dove and flame kites,  and multi-lingual prayers. We will commemorate the birthday of the Church, the day when barriers were broken down, community was formed and the people of God were aflame with God's love. Wear red. A birthday cake will be on the patio following the 10:30 a.m. service. There will be no Sunday school or youth event. 

Between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday and Saturday, June 2, members are encouraged to come by and help make murals and other decorations in Talbird Hall for Vacation Bible School. There will be coffee, donuts and music. Contact Kathleen Crevasse for more information. 

Grace Point offers summer camp sessions throughout the months of June and July. Sessions are divided by age groups and run from 4 to 6 days. Registration forms are available online at gracepointcamp.org. Family Camp is for rising first, second and third graders with a parent May 31-June 3. Camp 1 June 4-9 is for rising 10th grade through rising college freshhmen. Camp 2 June 11-16 is for rising 8th and 9th grades. Camp 3 June 18-23 is for rising 6th and 7th grades. Camp 4 June 26-July 1 is for rising fourth and fifth grades. Summer session July 9-13 is for rising 4th through 12th grades.


St. Timothy's Holds Family Mission Camp

St. Timothy's will hold its 2nd Annual Family Mission Camp from Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June20. There will be food, fun, and growing together.  Everyone is invited to attend. (click for more)

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talladega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302 Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. Officials said it consisted of numerous pit bills, a fight ring, a treadmill and blood-stained carpets and paneling. Mcckamey Animal Services personnel were processing the fight scene. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
