Myers, Viola (Birchwood)

Viola Myers, 88, of Birchwood, Tn., died early Thursday morning, May 24, 2012 in an Athens health care facility. 

She was the daughter of the late Jim Williams and Ollie Lawson Williams; and was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Tom Myers; one son, James Franklin Myers; one daughter, Nancy Darlene Sloan; grandson, Carl Lee Grady; great-grandson, Brent Honey Myers; two great-granddaughters, Nikki Myers and Elisa Nicole Seay; brothers, Lester Williams and Lloyd Grissom; sister, Ruth Gladson; and a son-in-law, Charles Ervin Adams. 

She attended Word of Life Church.

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Myers and his wife Sandra and Dean Myers and his wife Carolyn all of Birchwood; five daughters, Evelyn Adams of Dalton, Mary Ann Grady of Riceville, Tommie Adams and her husband Jerry of Cleveland, Jean Lewallen and her husband Earl of Birchwood and Shirley White of Etowah; half-brother, Jimmy Williams of Cleveland; half-sister, Shirley Hollifield of Cleveland; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel with her sons, Lloyd Myers and Dean Myers officiating. Interment will follow in McInturf Cemetery with Andy Ferry, Tony Ferry, Thomas White, Mike Myers, Nathan Myers, Tim Myers and Bob Jones serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 26 from 12-3 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
