Stella Mae Swafford, 73, of Dalton, Ga., died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her residence.
Stella was born November 29, 1938, in Delano, Tn., a daughter of the late Grady and Beadie Plumley; and was also preceded in death by her husband, William H. Swafford Sr.; brothers, Junior Barnett and Jerry Barnett; and granddaughter, Holli Pippin.
She is survived by her son, William Bill Swafford Jr. and Deborah Nichols; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Eddie Pippin and Alice and Roy Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Justin Pippin, Morghen Kilgore, Colby Kilgore, Dustin Nichols, Leandra Nichols, April Lowe and Chrystal Walker; great- grandchildren, Addison Nichols, Tymber Bryant and Easton Watkins; sisters, Virginia Woody and Jerry Pike of Calhoun and Carrie Barnett of Tn.; special aunt and uncle, John and Millie Shelton of Etowah; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne and Bob Cox of Old Fort; and special nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Stella Mae Swafford will be held Saturday May 26, at 5 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Vess officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at the Ponders Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
