Doug Grammer Running For Probate Judge In Walker County

  • Friday, May 25, 2012

Doug Grammer announced he is seeking to be Walker County’s next probate judge as a Republican candidate.

Mr. Grammar said, "I  want a responsive government. When others announced in October of 2011, I looked over the candidates and began to consider running."

He said he asked to meet with the other candidates and they were unable to meet with him.

He said, "Many family members and friends urged me to run and, after much prayer and thought, I decided that now is the time to try to make our county a better place to live."

Mr.

Grammer said he will not be outworked. He challenged voters to do their homework. He asked voters to Google his name and the names of the other two candidates with the words “Georgia” and “Republican.” He claims to be "the consistent conservative and not a candidate come lately."

Mr. Grammer has owned two businesses and has been the leader of a 501 c-3 nonprofit organization. He graduated from LaFayette High School in 1984, attended Dalton College and UTC and has a degree in economics.

He has been the chairman of the Ninth Congressional District GOP, which he said is one of the most conservative in the nation, and the state chairman of the Georgia Young Republicans.

Mr. Grammer, 46, is a longtime Rock Spring resident and attends Peavine Baptist Church.

Republican primary election day is July 31.
