Sharon later in her career worked for the Central Office for the Department of Education as an administrative assistant.

She was a proud member of Bayside Baptist Church in Harrison and enjoyed her extremely supportive Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sim Scott Roark; grandmother, Nell Johnson, and nephew, Cody Scott Roark.

She is survived by her nurturing mother, Nell “Bubba” Johnson Roark; her loving husband of 43 years, Jim Lovell; devoted daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Andy Downs; dedicated son and daughter-in-law, Troy Scott and Lauren Lovell; four grandchildren, Blake Scott Lovell, Lillian Maclain Hixson, Luke, and Lydia Downs; loving sister, Vicki Lee; niece, Haven Scott Roark; uncles and aunts, Gene and Beverly Johnson, Phillip and Ann Johnson and numerous close cousins.

The life of this kind, loving, warmhearted, Christian woman will be celebrated at Bayside Baptist Church.

Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 27.

Sharon will always be remembered for doing more for others than for her own self. Her arms were always open when we needed a hug. Her heart understood when we needed a friend. Her gentle eyes were stern when we needed a lesson and her strength and love has at one time guided us all.
