Karen “Kay” Reynolds Tallent, 48, of Summerville, died on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Kindred Hospital in Rome, Ga., following an extended illness.

Mrs. Tallent was born in Rome, Ga., on Sept. 17, 1963, daughter of Cecil Reynolds and June White Reynolds. She was a member of the Four Mile Baptist Church, and was a homemaker. 

Mrs. Tallent was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lon and Alice Reynolds and her maternal grandparents, Rev. A.N. and Linda White, and a nephew, Daniel Tyler Reynolds.

Mrs. Tallent is survived by her husband, David Tallent; daughter, Courtney Tallent; son, Chris Tallent; parents, Cecil and June Reynolds; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Zeta Reynolds; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 28, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Reverend Doyle Kelley, Reverend Joel A. Smith, and Mr. Jeff Greenway officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Bethel Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Adair, Lewis Adair, Jeff Greenway, Greg Greenway, Benny Morgan, and Gabe Tallent. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Four Mile Baptist Church.

Mrs. Tallent will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Sunday, May 27, from 6-8 p.m.
