Extended Tax Deadline Is Thursday For 10 Tennessee Counties

Tuesday, May 29, 2012
The Internal Revenue Service offered a final reminder Tuesday for taxpayers in 10 counties in Tennessee that their extended tax filing and payment deadline is Thursday.

Due to severe storms that affected Tennessee earlier this year, residents of counties that were declared federal disaster areas have until May 31 to file and pay their 2011 taxes.

Federally-declared counties are Bradley, Claiborne, Cumberland, DeKalb, Hamilton, Jackson, McMinn, Monroe, Overton, and Polk.
Read more about the tax relief offered for those counties in IRS press release AL/TN-2012-14TN.
