Mary Lee Hartsfield Smith was born to the union of Elias and Frankie Porch Hartsfield on April 22, 1927.  She died on April 30, 2012.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Frankie Hartsfield; her husband, Deacon Felton M. Smith, Sr.; three sisters, a brother and a son.  

She was a member of Temple of Faith Deliverance Church of God in Christ.

Mother Smith is survived by one daughter, Saundra F. Smith Murrell, Chattanooga; three sons, Bishop Felton M. Smith, Jr. (Connie) of Nashville, Van Allen Smith of Chattanooga, and Dana Arlandon Smith of Las Vegas, Ne.; one brother, Eugene Hartsfield of Chattanooga; three sisters, Mother Ernestine Hartsfield Bennett, Mother Freddie Elaine Hartsfield Nance (James) and Alberta Hartsfield Smith, all of Chattanooga; one adopted daughter, Gwendolyn Robertson of Houston, Tx.; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at Temple of Faith COGIC with Dr. Rozario Slack and Bishop Felton Smith, Jr. officiating.  

Interment will be on Monday, May 6, at 12:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Friday, May 4, with the family receiving friends from 6–8 p.m. at Faith Temple Church.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge.
