The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will host a Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Field Day on Saturday, June 16, in Knoxville at the John Sevier Hunter Education Facility.
The relaxed atmosphere of the BOW Field Day is primarily aimed at women, but is an opportunity for anyone 18 or older to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing, however it is useful for many outdoor pursuits. Workshop participants will have a chance to take two classes (one morning, one afternoon) during the event.
This year’s BOW Field Day offers classes in basic archery, all terrain vehicle operation, introduction to pistol shooting, introduction to firearms, nature photography basics, Dutch oven cooking, women’s self dense, backyard habitat, boating safety education, and introduction to turkey hunting. The BOW Field Day will be held rain or shine.
The BOW Field Day fee is $25 which includes lunch and snacks. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
