Mindy B's Deli Announces Round 2 Of Sandwich Throwdown

Mindy B’s Deli, a new Downtown deli, challenged locals to a Sandwich Throwdown and they answered the call.  The Sandwich Throwdown is a Facebook centered contest in which the winner’s creation will be placed on Mindy B’s Deli’s menu in their name for a full year.

Round one of the contest consisted of fans placing their creations on Mindy B’s Facebook page for others to “like”.  The three sandwiches with the most likes have now advanced to round 2 of the Sandwich Throwdown.  “These three sandwiches will  be featured on our menu starting Monday June 4 and will run as features through June 15The one that sells the most during that two week period will be crowned the Sandwich King or Queen and will have their creation on our menu for an entire year! “, announced Chef Mindy. The three sandwiches being  featured are:

"The Rockefeller" created by Chris Grant which consists of Toasted Sourdough bread, Roast Beef, Corned Beef, Pastrami(cold), Cheddar and Pepperjack cheese, green leaf lettuce, mayo and thousand island dressing mix (50/50), and a dash of cayenne pepper to top it off, for folks wanting a little spice.

“The Ruby Slipper” created by Angela Hanley which consists of House roasted turkey breast, apple wood smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, arugula, mayo and cranberry sauce, served on Bluff View garlic ciabatta.

“The Planet Altered Pita Pocket” created by Linda Sines which consists of Pita Pocket, Cream cheese, sliced tomato, cucumber slices, fresh mushrooms and onions (optional). Generous drizzle with "blonde" honey mustard dressing (honey, mustard, mayo).

Proni’s – Don’t Be Paranoid, It’s Just Pizza!

Located at 5001 Brainerd Road is a little place called Proni’s. I had heard that they had good pizza, so last week I stopped in for a visit. Feds Dismiss Criminal Charges Against Rarity Developer Mike Ross

Federal authorities have dismissed an indictment against Mike Ross, the developer of a floundering Rarity Club project at Nickajack Lake in Marion County. The Maryville developer was charged last November with mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. Head Of BB&T's Chattanooga Commercial Banking Operations To Plead Guilty To Making Fraudulent Loans

The head of BB&T's Chattanooga commercial banking operations has been charged by federal authorities with making fraudulent loans. Tracy Brown is set to plead guilty to bank fraud on June 4.
