Alice Hester Martin, 95, of Rossville, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Mrs. Martin was a beautician until the age of 70, although she claimed that she was only 16. She attended Terra Vista Baptist Church for many years, was a cancer survivor, and enjoyed ballroom dancing, crafts, and spending time with her family, each of which she called her “favorite.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Martin, son, Charles “Buddy” Martin, five brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Blevins & Helen Kincaid of Rossville, and Carolyn (Marty) Wall of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Mike Blevins, Teresa (Danny) Puryear, Sherry Blevins Welsh, Kim Crosslin, Steve (Maria) Wall, Jill (Brian) Smith, Billy (Karen) Blevins, and Jennifer Kincaid (Philip) Foster; 20 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren;.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Billy Blevins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Lomenick Mausoleum, East Ridge.
