"It's a Grand Night for Singing" is the theme of Scenic City Chorale's spring concert, which will be presented in the sanctuary of Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, on Sunday, at 6 p.m. The concert will offer a wide variety of musical styles and tastes, including two oratorical selections, familiar hymn arrangements, spirituals, and patriotic tunes. In addition to the full chorale's performing, there are special selections for men and women's choruses.
The 60-voice chorale will have as guest instrumentalists two flutes, a clarinet and a harp.
These professionals will accompany on several selections and the clarintist and harpist will perform solos as well. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be taken to assist with the expenses of the concert. Accompanists are Jim Martin and Jeryl DeSabla with Ron Starnes as director.
