Terry Alice Patten lost her battle with early onset dementia on May 4, 2012. She died peacefully with her son, Bo Patten, by her side.

She was born November 3, 1954 in Chattanooga and lived most of her life on Signal Mountain.

 

She was a graduate of Brainerd High School, attended the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority; then graduated from UT Chattanooga. Her career in business included employment with Chattanooga Choo Choo, PB&S Chemical Company, Gill Manufacturing, and later she owned a consulting business. She was a loving mother, friend, and daughter; had a zest for life and music, and always enjoyed being around friends and family.

She was a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church and Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, and father of her only son, David Larry King of Chattanooga (1985); second husband James B. Talley (2004) of Newnan, Ga., her father George Zeboim “Bome” Patten (2004), and mother Mary Jo Patten (2008), both of Signal Mountain.

 

She is survived by her son David Zeboim “Bo” Patten of Chattanooga, and family members:  David Patten (Libby), Margaret Waterhouse, Buffy Patten Layne, and Tatia Patten Hicks (Billy). Nieces are Marli Patten and Bay Patten. Many close friends include Wanda Mann (Merwyn) of Signal Mountain, Gail Secor (Al) of Hixson, Patsy Lay of Signal Mountain, and Linda Norwood (Jeff) of Signal Mountain. 

 

The family with receive friends at Signal Mountain Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 8, from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. with service following at the church with Rev. Sally Ensley officiating.

Burial will follow at the National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Chad Wolford, Michael Lanza, Brad Rooks, Kennedy Berresford, Scottie Mayfield, and Eric Brandon. Honorary Pallbearers are Al Secor, Seth Carico, Bryan Gross, Robert Osborne, Billy Hicks, David Patten, and George Patten.

 

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the local chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice, and Alexian Brothers of Signal Mountain.
