Jeanne F. Dupree-Murphree, 86, of Chattanooga, died at Manorhouse Assisted Living following a brief illness.
She was president and CEO of Dupree Oil Company and a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. She was a very industrious and hard-working lady who deeply loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Jack C. Dupree, father, John E. Funderburg, mother, Bernice Rice Funderburg. grandson, Michael Christopher Dupree, sister, Ann Elam.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Murphree; sons, Michael (Lisa) Dupree and Charles P. (Dr. Carol B. Berz) Dupree, stepdaughter, Diane (Scott) Kaderly; grandsons, Kevin Kaderly, Matthew R. (Jennifer) Dupree, Jonathan Andrew Dupree; granddaughters, Meghan Bentley, Jamie Bonn, Allison Elizabeth Dupree; niece, Allyn (Ron) Mask and nephew, Bert (Barbara) Elam and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, and Friday, May 11, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 11, at St. Michael’s Charismatic Anglican Church, 2330 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, with the Reverend Louis Tonsmeire and Bishop Richard Coleman officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Kaderly, Alex Bonn, Don Owen, Matthew Dupree, Ron Mask, Bert Kaiser, Bert Elam and Rick McGinnis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Dupree and Allison Dupree. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
