Chattanooga Football Club Falls In 2012 Opener

The Chattanooga Football Club lost it's season opener Saturday night at Finley Stadium 1-0 to the Knoxville Force. 

It was both team's conference opener and the 1-0 win by the Force gives them a 1-0 record in the Southeast Conference-west standings.

The lone goal came in the 14th minute when Brandon Tarr headed a shot past CFC keeper Greg Hartley. 

CFC countered in the 24th minute when Luke Winter found Michael Brooks whose shot went of the the right post and was cleared out.

 

Irvin Espinal was called offsides on his would be goal in the 34th minute. 

Felipe Lawall had a hard shot saved by the Force's keeper Rich Rumwald Le Guevel late in the first half.

CFC kept the pressure on in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer.

The Force defense cleared out back-to-back corners in the 78th and 79th minute. 

The teams will meet again next Saturday in Knoxville. 

CFC officials were hoping for 5,000 fans for their Cinco De Mayo game but fell short with the official attendance being announced as 3,827.
