Lady Scots Earn NCCAA Softball At-Large Berth

Despite falling in the Mid-East Region Tournament a week ago, the Covenant Lady Scots softball team is headed to Botetourt County, Va., for a second straight season to play in the NCCAA Softball Championships on May 10-12.

The Lady Scots earned the eighth and final spot in the tournament field and will take on top-seed California Baptist at 12 p.m. on Thursday. If the Lady Scots win their first game, they will play Friday at 12 p.m. If the Lady Scots fall in game one, they will have to play a second game on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Cal Baptist comes into the tournament with a record of 45-6 on the season, while Covenant sits at 21-20 overall. The other six participants in the tournament include No. 2 seed Cedarville (Ohio), No. 3 seed and defending champion North Greenville, No. 4 seed Trevecca Nazarene, No. 5 seed Judson (Ill.) University, No. 6 seed Campbellsville, and seventh-seed Emmanuel College.

 


Beachy Begins Rehab At Gwinnett Sunday
