Longtime Businessman In Chattanooga

Henry Ira Rubenstein, 87, of Chattanooga died May 5, 2012 at a local hospital.

He was a longtime businessman and lifetime resident of Chattanooga. He was the only child of the late Lawrence and Annabelle Rubenstein. Henry was a graduate of Baylor School and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII having served in the European Theatre with the 156th Infantry Regiment where he received the European Theatre Campaign Ribbon with two bronze stars. He was the owner/operator of Rubenstein's of Rossville and Tri-State Printers. Henry was a former member of the Chamber of Commerce of Chattanooga; American Legion; Mt. City Masonic Lodge #549, Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Society and Alhambra Shrine. He was also a former member and past president of the Rossville Kiwanis Club and served on the Board of Directors of Mizpah Congregation for over 20 years.

Survivors include daughter, Sue Rubenstein of Columbus, Ohio; son, Steven Rubenstein of Nashville; son and daughter-in law, Jim and Barbara Rubenstein of Houston; granddaughters, Julie Rubenstein and Lisa Rubenstein, both of Houston.

Graveside services will be held at Mizpah Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 9, with Rabbi Bill S. Tepper officiating.
