Time For Our Nation To Return To God

Wednesday, May 09, 2012

Reading the headlines and watching the news, we see more and more heartache and trouble in America. It seems things keep going from bad to worse.

This being an election year, Americans are hoping and praying for just the right person to be put into office who will make a real difference in our country. We should all pray for those running for office and vote.

I want to plead with each and everyone who reads this article to look at the bigger picture. Man can not fix all that is going on in America. We can vote in the right people and they can repair some of the problems for a time, but there is only one who can really bless America. This one I am speaking of is God. God is America’s foundation and we need to turn back to Him.

We have gotten so far away from God in America. If we want to see America blessed, it must begin with us going before Almighty God, repenting, and praying for Him pour out His Holy Spirit and send revival to our great nation.

There are several things we can do to get involved. A great place to start is by praying for our country and leaders daily. Find a church to worship and praise Him. Find events and participate in events like the One Cry Prayer Summit, every Thursday in May from 8-9 p.m.  Find active organizations which allow you to get involved and do a work for God. God made us to serve and worship Him.

1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Matthew 21:22 “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Roy Exum: So How Am I Really Doing?

I’ve gotten hundreds of jokes since Tuesday when I wrote about feeling a little puny lately and expressing my belief that laughter is the best medicine. After breaking some bones in my arm as I slept last week and having no idea there were already some other fractures, it looked pretty certain I had a case of “The Big C.” I’ve always felt that stands for “courage” but the medical ... Lookouts Win Fifth Straight Nipping Wahoos, 3-1

Andres Santiago and three Lookouts pitchers combined for a four-hitter -- including 3.1 hitless innings by the bullpen -- and Yasiel Puig drove in all three of the Lookouts runs as they earned their fifth consecutive victory (the longest win streak of the 2013 season), 3-1, over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. Puig's days well may be numbered with the Lookouts. But the big Cuban, ... (click for more)
