Country gospel performer Chris McDaniel will bring his distinct vocal stylings to Sacred Sounds Fridays, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ringgold Depot at Depot Street and U.S. 41 in Ringgold, Ga. in a special concert for the Share America Foundation, Inc.
Mr. McDaniel, formerly of the multi-platinum country group Confederate Railroad, is the staff music evangelist at Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga, Ga.
He has shared his music ministry in concert, conference and crusades with artists such as David Phelps of the Gaither Vocal Band, Clay Crosse, Jars of Clay, Big Daddy Weave, Barlow Girl, Chris Rice, Natalie Grant, and Charles Billingsly.
Also featured will be the barbershop gospel of the Rock City 4, and harmonica stylist Otis Head, celebrating his 57th year as a radio host. His show airs Saturdays at 12:30 on WTTI 1530 from Dalton, Ga.
Ticket donation is $5.
Randall Franks, “Officer Randy Goode” from TV’s “In the Heat of the Night” will emcee.
“We are excited to bring some new performers and sounds to our show and we hope we will see many folks turn out to support all these great performers,” Mr. Franks said.
The event is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund. The Share America Foundation, Inc., a Georgia non-profit, presents scholarships to talented musicians who excel in the Appalachian musical arts.
Donations for tickets are adults: $5, Children five and under free with adult.
