JoAnna Harris Barnes, 75, of East Ridge, died on Sunday morning, June 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the daughter of the late Joe A. and Millie W. Harris.
Mrs. Barnes retired from Olan Mills after 36 years of service and was a graduate of Central High School.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church for the past 25 years and the Believers Sunday School class.
She loved the Lord and her family. She was a mother and grandmother who was loved beyond measure.
Survivors are her daughter, Julie Fowler Barnes, East Ridge; son, Michael (Teresa) Barnes, Ooltewah, sisters, Marcine Lyons, Rossville and Shirley McMillian, East Ridge. JoAnna was referred to as Grandma and Granny by her four grandchildren. She was Granny to Zachary Fowler and Grandma to Brandon Barnes, Jason Barnes and Chastity Barnes along with three great-grandchildren. She leaves behind several special nephews and two nieces, Tina Hales and Mashonia Bales that have been by her side giving of their time and love. Also faithful to help was her sister-in-law, Madelyn McNabb, Rossville.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Shad Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
