BlueCross Names Vitulli Vice President Of Provider Networks

Christy Vitulli has been named the vice president of provider networks and contracting for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. In this position, Ms. Vitulli will play a vital role in the management of provider contracting activities throughout all lines of business, including commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid. 

Ms. Vitulli will lead contracting strategies, execute network requirements for the health insurance exchange and develop and manage new provider payment models. Additionally, she will oversee the development and managerial functions associated with the strategic planning and daily operation of the provider network team.

"Her knowledge of the Tennessee market and experience gained in her previous role at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida provides a unique opportunity for her to offer valuable insight and leadership as we transform our contracting strategies and develop even stronger relationships with the provider community." 

At the Florida Blues Plan, Ms. Vitulli served as vice president of provider solutions and network operations. In that position she provided leadership for network operations, issue management, professional relations, and provider communications and education. Additionally she held leadership positions at  BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee as well as at John Deere Health Care, Inc., Heritage Health Systems and North American Medical Management in Beaumont and Houston, Texas. 

Ms. Vitulli received a Bachelor of Arts degree of business administration from Texas A&M University. Furthering her educational endeavors, she studied at Lipscomb University where she earned an MBA.

Ms. Vitulli will be based out of BlueCross’ Nashville office and will work with health care providers statewide.

Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
