William Matthew “Matt” Pryor, 28, of East Ridge, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his home.  

He attended South Seminole Baptist Church and had worked for U.S. Express. Matt was a graduate of East Ridge High School class of 2001, received his associate's degree from Chattanooga State Technical Community College and attended UTC. His interests were music, guitar and antique muscle cars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry E. Pryor, his grandfather, William Matthews and his grandmother, Betty Jo Matthews.

Survivors include his mother, Kathy Matthews Pryor of East Ridge; grandmother, Novella Matthews of East Ridge; aunts and uncles, Ron and Bitsy Renegar of East Ridge, Reed and Beth Morgan of Ringgold, and Francis and Ann Pryor of Jasper; cousins, Mike and Sharon Renegar, Scott and Margarita Renegar, Grace, Christopher and Caroline Renegar and Brandon and Ellie Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Reverend Ron Perry officiating. Entombment will be in Lomenick Cemetery Mausoleum. 

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, and from 1:30–2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the McKamey Animal Shelter or to the American Heart Association.
