Lookouts Battling Biscuits And Rain In Montgomery

Monday, June 11, 2012
MONTGOMERY --- Rain wiped out the Biscuits’ doubleheader with the Chattanooga Lookouts on Sunday and erased a game from Montgomery’s schedule.

While the teams will play a series-ending doubleheader at 7:05 p.m. ET today at Riverwalk Stadium, one of Sunday’s games was canceled. The loss has little affect upon the Lookouts who are 7.0 games out of first in the Southern League North Division, but it could have an impact on the Biscuits’ first-half pennant chase.

Montgomery trails the Mobile BayBears by 3½ games entering Monday in the Southern League South Division.

The Biscuits have six games remaining in the first half. Mobile, which had a game rained out Sunday and also plays a doubleheader today, has seven games left to play.

Montgomery and Chattanooga were rained out Saturday and were to make up that game with Sunday’s doubleheader. Minor league rules prohibit tripleheaders.

The Lookouts return home on June 21 to begin second-half play against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (formerly the Carolina Biscuits).
