Tommie Mae Cook, of Hixson, died on Monday, June 11, 2012.  She was 80 years old.

Tommie was born in Pelham, Tn., to the late Tom and Vergie Gallagher. She was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. Tommie was a longtime employee with Hamilton National Bank, First Tennessee Bank and retired from First Tennessee with over 30 years of service. She was a faithful member of Hillside Baptist Church, where she served as a greeter and was known as the “Candy Lady”.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Gallagher.

Tommie is survived by her two children, Jerry Cook of Chickamauga, Georgia and Darlene Pardue (Tony) of Red Bank; sister, Jean Buckner of Hixson; two aunts, Janie Hines of Pelham, Tn., and Clarine Payne of Decatur, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friend from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at the North Chapel and her body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at the church.

Services for Tommie will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Hillside Baptist Church, 6311 Dayton Blvd., Hixson, Tn. 37343 with her Pastor Steve Cape and Reverend Wayland Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
