Jackson, Marlene L. (Dalton)

Marlene L. Jackson, 66, of Dalton, Ga., died Sunday, June 10, 2012.  

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.  

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Frances E. Jackson Lawrence Conner; father, Mr. Carry B. Lawrence, Sr.; step-father, Lowe Conner; one sister, Mrs. Velma Mae Tibbs; six brothers, C.B. Jr., Burt, Andrew, Wayne, Joe Henry, Jimmy and her twin brother, Mr. Marvin Lawrence.

Survivors are her husband, Mr. Walter Jackson; one son, Mr. Robert Marsh; step-daughter, Mrs. Minnie Winn Hill of Dalton; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Rosie Helen Adams of Summerville, Mrs. Hattie Ruth Adams of Rome, Ga. and Mrs. Minnie Pearl Porter of Chattanooga; two brothers, Mr. Freeman (Lisa) Lawrence of Chattanooga and Mr. Oscar Lawrence of Toledo, Oh.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 16, at 12 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church 900 Roan Street with Pastor Kenneth Scaife and other Ministers officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery. 

Her remains will lie in state Friday, June 15 after 11 a.m.. until the funeral hour.

Rogers, 20, Shot Twice While Standing On His Porch

A 20-year-old man was shot twice while standing on his porch on Monday night. At approximately 8:44 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Walker Street.
