Gerald Max Chambers, 70, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
He was born in Crossville, Ala., to the late Jeannie W. and Lutealia Jarmon Chambers and moved to the Chattanooga area in 1961. Gerald served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Ingles after 25 yrs. In 2010.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gwinell Bowling.
Gerald is survived by his wife, of 10 years, Shirley Chambers; daughters, Karen McGrath(Randy) of Soddy Daisy, Sharon Chambers of Chattanooga, and Alisha Whalen (Joe) of Hixson; son, Evan Whited (Kristina) of Bryant, Ala.;sisters, Jean Buckalew Andrews of Pensacola, Fla., Hellen Marshall of Molino, Fla., Marie Wheeler of Ringgold, and Sandra Chambers of Dallas, Ga.; brothers, Thomas Chambers of Crossville, Ala., Kenneth David Chambers of Powder Springs, Ga., and Glenn Chambers of Trussville, Ala.; grandchildren, Devan Gilbert (Ethan), Taylor Whited, Alexis Whited, Brandon McGrath, and Holly McGrath; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, in the funeral home chapel with Brother David Crane, Brother Sam Whited, and Brother Joe Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens-South.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, after 11 a.m. on Friday, and prior to the service on Saturday.
