U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career In Textile Industry

Ronald David Barnes, 70, Ringgold, died at his home June 13, 2012.  

He was the son of the late Robert “ Bob” and Betty Barnes. David lived and worked most of his life in and around Ringgold, Ga., and retired from Color Spectrum in LaFayette. He had also worked in the textile industry in Ringgold, Dalton, and LaFayette and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. 

David was a loving husband and a good man and he will be missed.  

He was preceded in death by sisters, Irene, Grace and Margie Barnes, Marie Mathis; brothers, Henry and Robert “Sonny” Barnes; and beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Nowatny Barnes.

Survivors are his wife, of 40 years, Linda Barnes; daughters, Patty Ann Cranfield, Cynthia Stinnett; son, David Wayne Barnes; brother, Lester Barnes; sister, Doris Morgan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David Sampson officiating. Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Walter Boehm Birth Defect Center, 975 E. Third Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
